On Friday, General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, announced that the infamous terrorist Bello Turji has expressed his readiness to surrender. During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, General Musa explained that the elimination of Turji’s second-in-command and several other lieutenants by the military has compelled him to release a significant number of his hostages. This development indicates Turji’s growing willingness to abandon his violent activities and lay down his arms.
“Terrorists are embedded within the communities, and local residents are often familiar with their presence. Unfortunately, when individuals attempt to report sightings, it can take up to two hours for the information to reach authorities. By the time help is mobilized, the suspect has typically already vacated the area.”

“I can assure you that we have eliminated his second-in-command and most of his lieutenants. As a result, he is now compelled to release many of the individuals under his command. In fact, I can tell you that he has started expressing a desire to disengage, indicating that he is ready to surrender.”
The Defense Chief stated that despite reports of Turji’s willingness to surrender, anyone involved in the killing of innocent civilians must face consequences. “We are committed to identifying and apprehending everyone responsible for these crimes. Individuals like him cannot be permitted to remain at large,” General Musa emphasized.
