I do not expect any favors from Abuja courts – Nnamdi Kanu

The beleaguered leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) stated on Friday that he has little hope for a favorable judgment from any court in Abuja. Kanu emphasized that his case is not being resolved through the rule of law, but rather through the machinations of corrupt and ruthless politics.

During a routine meeting with his legal team, headed by chief counsel Aloy Ejimakor, at the Department of State Services (DSS) facility in Abuja, Kanu expressed his concerns. He lamented that the individuals profiting from the current state of insecurity are influencing key decisions that impact justice and governance.

A statement released by Ejimakor states: “The legal team has completed today’s visit with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He has requested that we inform the public that he does not anticipate a favorable judgment from any courts in Abuja. This expectation arises from the belief that his cases are not adjudicated based on the principles of law, but rather influenced by the murky and perilous realm of political maneuvering.”

The application of the law in his case does not align with the written laws of Nigeria or the relevant international statutes. Those who profit from the prevailing insecurity are the ones determining the adverse decisions, as it seems that if true justice were served, the well-coordinated and heavily funded attacks, along with the smear campaigns against him and his noble mission, would fail to resonate with the public.

“Onyendu MNK compassionately encouraged the public to take the time to read all court decisions and judgments related to him and IPOB, emphasizing that there is often a disconnect between the law and its application. He firmly believes that his trial is not just a legal proceeding, but a distressing effort to undermine truth and justice.”
