Man United defender has played his final game under Amorim, could leave soon

Manchester United finished the Europa League group stage with a 2-0 away win against FCSB on Thursday night.

Manager Ruben Amorim made five changes to the starting lineup, and the teams were level at halftime. However, United improved in the second half.

Diogo Dalot scored the first goal in the 60th minute, followed by Kobbie Mainoo, who secured the win with another goal eight minutes later.

Mainoo excelled in the left-sided number 10 role, contributing not only with a goal but also providing a great assist for Dalot.

While several players performed well, Tyrell Malacia stood out for the wrong reasons. Struggling with consistency since returning from a lengthy knee injury, he had a disappointing match at left wing-back, receiving a yellow card for a reckless challenge and making a poor back pass that created pressure.

Malacia did deliver one dangerous cross, but it wasn’t enough to secure his position. He was substituted at halftime, having completed just 13 successful passes and losing half of his ground duels.

He received a 4/10 rating from the Manchester Evening News and may have played his last match for United. The club is set to sign Lecce left wing-back Patrick Dorgu, which could facilitate Malacia’s exit, likely on loan, with Real Betis and Celtic as potential destinations.
