Amaechi-Wike: Olayinka Says Deji Wan Chop Kolision Money” – Nigerians Weigh In

Nigerian politics has always been loud, but lately, it’s felt less like governance and more like a street brawl on social media. The latest face-off, a no-filter, no-mercy war of words between Lere Olayinka, aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, and activist-lawyer Deji Adeyanju.

It started with a tweet. On July 5, 2025, Deji waded into the ongoing Amaechi and Wike feud, declaring that Rotimi Amaechi was “too big” to respond to Wike’s jabs, and offered to handle the minister himself:

“Coalition people should leave Wike and his dead PDP for me. Amaechi is too big to respond to Wike. Please, leave him for me. They should face other important and relevant issues.”

It didn’t take long for Lere Olayinka to clap back and he didn’t hold back. His response, laced with personal attacks, shook X (formerly Twitter) and set off a storm.

In a scathing reply, Olayinka accused Adeyanju of hypocrisy and greed, bringing up alleged past misdeeds:

“One online baseless lawyer, who impregnated a lady that he met in Keffi, Nasarawa State, who gave birth to a boy and he abandoned both mother and son will also be talking about Kolision.
He will be on social media, postulating about human rice and beans. Sosu Media lawyer is even begging that they should leave Wike for him to handle. He wan chop Kolision money just like he chop PDP social media campaign money in 2015.”

From dragging Deji’s personal life to claiming he “chopped” PDP funds during the 2015 campaign, Olayinka’s message was loud and clear: don’t come for Wike if your own hands aren’t clean.

Nigerians Weigh In

As expected, Nigerians jumped into the conversation, some with humor, others with deep frustration. And no, no reaction was left behind.

@DbPragmatic:

“Gbas gbos don start. Wike vs the rest of the world. Maybe this will take away some of the gbas gbos of Mr President (Baba no dey even see them though). Won ti ge Asake l’eti lo on abuse. Baba can only hear progressive and constructive criticism.”

@Atobajaye25:

“It’s no surprise that Wike appointed you as Special Adviser — he knows you’re capable of playing the political game just as aggressively as he does. But if you must fight, do it with facts and sound arguments, not like children trading personal insults and dragging families into political debates.”

@flourish007:

“We have educated thugs embedded in nearly every government agency and department—especially among the spokespersons, who often have no clue what they’re saying. They constantly embarrass themselves, not just on social media but on national television. It’s governance that resembles a motor park operation really.”

@BrightAlaribe:

“See this uninformed dwarf talking…you that collected people’s money and ran away… abi your smelling mouth inside the Abj – PH bound plane we sat together. Just quietly eat the looted funds your oga gives you and shut up.”

@oladavi21325972:

“This coalition really shame you people ooooooo. Ever since the announcement oga and ọmọ ìṣe is everywhere ranting and attacking personality instead of issue. Wait till ADC make Peter Obi the flag bearer, na HBP go remain.”

@danbosket26:

“So this is what you will be doing for the next 2 years and earning 120k Monthly while Joaquin and his brother who are less than 30 years drive Rolls-Royce and own lands in choice places. Agbaya Oshi.”

@akinraphaela:

“It will be unwise to take side with any of these political foot soldiers. They know themselves in and out, but their goal is the same.”

@ItoroAssam1:

“Na wa oo…Campaigns have not started and we are beginning to spue alot of things….I like this Kountry!!! By d way who is this lawyer abeg….lol”

@Don_OmobaDimeji:

“This man should be Tinubu campaign spokesman he will deliver perfectly I have no doubt baba sabi response.”

@DrealAlakoriGuy:

“Uncle @OlayinkaLere the weather is cold….kindly add hotness for all to enjoy….GOD bless your ministry sir….Ejo top up that gas cylinder for the hit to circulate.”

@LanrePopoola10:

“Why is it all PBAT soldier turn all engagement to attack? Why are they angry? Is it cos of Coalition birthed less than 72 hours?”

But What Sparked This?

Let’s not forget where it all started. The Amaechi and Wike feud has been brewing for years. Once political allies in Rivers State: Amaechi the mentor, Wike the loyal protégé, they are now entrenched in a rivalry that keeps spilling into national headlines.

Recently, on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Wike tore into Amaechi’s political credentials:

“How can he mentor me when he doesn’t even know his left from his right politically?”

Wike accused Amaechi of facilitating ₦48 billion in payments to a company allegedly linked to his wife through the NDDC. He also claimed Amaechi received a Rolls-Royce from a contractor in 2014. “Let him answer to Nigerians,” Wike added.

Amaechi didn’t let it slide. Now a member of the ADC, he hit back, challenging Wike to a walk from Abuja to Port Harcourt without security.

“Let’s see who survives it.”

He urged opposition voices to stop focusing on Wike and instead engage Nigerians on serious 2027 election issues.

Let’s call it what it is: the Amaechi and Wike feud has become political theatre. A lot of noise, few meaningful takeaways. While Wike and Amaechi toss insults, and Deji and Olayinka throw shade, citizens are left wondering: what happened to real issues?

As one commentator put it, “Campaigns haven’t started, and we’re already spitting venom.” Is this really the prelude to 2027?

Time to Refocus?

Beyond the laughs and the gbas gbos, we need to ask: what do these spats say about our political culture? Are we stuck in cycles of personality clashes while the country burns?

The Amaechi and Wike feud should prompt more than gossip. It should push us to demand better not just from politicians, but from those who speak for them.

So let’s keep the conversation going. Where do you stand on all this? Drop your thoughts. Nigeria needs more truth.
