Senator Ireti Kingibe Backs Youths’ Petition for Electoral Reform in Nigeria

Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has pledged her full support for young Nigerians pushing for urgent changes in the country’s electoral system.

In a recent statement, Senator Kingibe said she was inspired by the energy and determination of Nigerian youths who are demanding a better future for the country. She met with Peter Randy, a prominent youth advocate, and his team, who are leading the #FIXINEC and #ELECTORALREFORM campaigns. The meeting, she said, was both productive and powerful.

“To show how seriously I take this cause, I cancelled all other plans to meet with them immediately. Their voices matter, and their well-being is my top priority,” Kingibe stated.

During the meeting, the senator received a petition calling for electoral reform in Nigeria, which she described as bold and courageous. The petition, she noted, reflects the widespread frustration among Nigerians over the current state of elections and the need for meaningful change.

As a member of the Senate Electoral Reform Committee, Kingibe assured the public that the petition will not be ignored. “I understand the urgency, and I will work hard to ensure this matter is treated with the seriousness it deserves,” she said.

She also promised to provide regular updates on the progress of reform efforts through her verified social media channels. “It’s important to keep everyone informed. We must stay connected and work together to push for these changes,” she added.

Kingibe emphasized the need for collective effort in achieving real reform, noting that she cannot do it alone. “We need unity, determination, and your continued support. If we work together, we can reshape our democracy for the better.”

Reiterating her commitment to electoral reform in Nigeria, Senator Kingibe said she is grateful to those who trust her to represent their voices. “I promise to serve with honesty, transparency, and dedication. I won’t let you down,” she assured.

With more Nigerians calling for free, fair, and credible elections, Kingibe’s involvement adds momentum to the push for electoral reform in Nigeria, signaling a growing alliance between lawmakers and the youth movement.
