President Bola Tinubu arrived in Anambra State on Thursday for his first official visit to the state, where he is expected to inaugurate several major projects, including the state’s first-ever Government House.
Tinubu touched down at the Chinua Achebe Airport in Awka around 12:15 p.m. and was warmly received by Governor Chukwuma Soludo and other top government officials.
One of the key highlights of the visit is the commissioning of Anambra’s first Government House, a project hailed as a historic achievement more than three decades after the state was created. Tinubu inaugurates Anambra projects as part of Governor Soludo’s infrastructure development efforts.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Anambra State Commissioner for Works, Ifeanyi Okoma, said the moment is a big win for the people. “For 34 years, Anambra was the only state without a proper government house. We were operating from a temporary structure in Amawbia, outside the state capital,” Okoma explained.

“But today, thanks to Governor Soludo’s leadership, we now have a proper Government House sitting on about 8 hectares. It’s going to be the biggest and greenest in the country,” he added.
In addition to the Government House, Tinubu inaugurates Anambra projects like the Solution Fun City and other infrastructure built by the Soludo administration. These projects are aimed at boosting development and improving the quality of life for residents.
President Tinubu is also expected to hold a town hall meeting with community leaders, business people, and other stakeholders to discuss issues affecting the state and the South-East region more broadly.
This marks Tinubu’s second visit to the South-East since becoming president, following a trip to Enugu State in January.
As Tinubu inaugurates Anambra projects, the visit is being seen as both a symbolic and practical effort to strengthen federal ties with the region and celebrate Governor Soludo’s achievements.
