2027 Elections: North to Review Tinubu’s Electoral Promises at Kaduna Summit

The Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation has announced plans to host a two-day national dialogue to evaluate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s progress on his 2023 electoral commitments. The event, scheduled for May 20th and 21st, 2025, will take place in Kaduna and focus on assessing the administration’s delivery across key sectors ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Foundation’s Director-General, Abubakar Umar, made this known in a statement on Monday, noting that the session will help bridge the gap between government policies and public perception.

“This forum aims to dispel misinformation, evaluate performance, and strengthen transparency in governance,” Umar said.

A major theme of the event will be reviewing Tinubu’s electoral promises, especially in relation to national security, agriculture and food security, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic governance.

Umar explained that federal government representatives will participate in presentations and panel discussions with stakeholders from across Northern Nigeria, offering citizens an opportunity to raise concerns and demand accountability.

“This event builds on our earlier engagement with presidential candidates in 2022, including then-candidate Bola Tinubu, where they outlined their vision for the country,” he said.

The summit will focus on:

  • Tracking the administration’s efforts to improve national security.
  • Measuring progress in agriculture, infrastructure, education, and health.
  • Assessing transparency and economic growth policies under President Tinubu.

According to the organizers, this initiative is part of ongoing efforts to sustain public trust and democratic accountability in Nigeria. “We believe these dialogues are crucial for unity, informed civic participation, and holding leaders to their word,” Umar stated.

The Foundation reiterated its mission to uphold the legacy of the late Sir Ahmadu Bello, by promoting good governance and inclusive development.

“This event is not just a check-in; it’s a civic tool to evaluate Tinubu’s 2027 electoral promises and ensuring the voices of citizens guide the country’s path forward,” Umar concluded.

With the 2027 elections on the horizon, the Kaduna summit is set to play a pivotal role in helping citizens evaluate Tinubu’s electoral promises and shape the next phase of national discourse.
