Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has raised serious concerns about the ongoing situation in Rivers State, saying the activities of the Rivers sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ibas, are pushing the state toward crisis.
In a statement shared through his Special Adviser on Media, Ike Abonyi, Secondus described the current governance style as dangerous and warned those “playing God” in the state to be mindful of the consequences of their actions. He said the actions of the Rivers sole administrator have endangered the peace and stability of the state.
“I weep for my state,” Secondus said. “The Rivers sole administrator has set the state on a keg of gunpowder. Sadly, Rivers has once again found itself on the wrong side of history because of the desire of one man to control everything.”
He urged President Bola Tinubu to pay attention to the voice of reason and restore Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who he said has the legitimate mandate of the people. According to him, the crisis was avoidable and must be handled with care and fairness.

Secondus also expressed gratitude to the Ijaw nation for remaining calm in the face of provocation, describing them as a strong and respected ethnic group spread across seven states with over 30 local government areas.
Touching on the broader state of the nation, Secondus said insecurity continues to spread like wildfire across Nigeria. He encouraged Nigerians not to give up hope but to keep praying for divine intervention, especially during the Easter season, which symbolizes hope and renewal.
He added that the resurrection of Christ after Good Friday shows that even in difficult times, better days can come. He urged Christians to continue showing love, compassion, and unity, and encouraged all Nigerians to live in peace regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
Secondus further called on political leaders to act with fear of God, promoting justice, fairness, and accountability. He said the Rivers sole administrator represents a threat to these values and that the ongoing crisis demands national attention and urgent resolution.
