Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are gathering in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, to discuss significant issues affecting the party and the nation. The meeting, hosted by Governor Seyi Makinde, features a state banquet for the attending governors.
Among those present are Bala Muhammed of Bauchi, who chairs the PDP Governors’ Forum, as well as Caleb Muftwang of Plateau State, Ahmadu Umar Fintiri of Adamawa State, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, Peter Mbah of Enugu, and Ademola Adeleke of Osun.
Notably absent from the meeting was the suspended Governor of Rivers, Sim Fubara, as well as Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State.

The PDP Governors plan to address several key topics, including the recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, ahead of the upcoming Supreme Court hearing related to their case. Another important agenda item is the proposed coalition against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which is being organized by some opposition figures, including leaders from the PDP.
Governor Makinde stated that the gathering of the PDP Governors’ Forum is crucial at this time, as they aim to outline a path forward for the party and position it as the best choice for Nigerians in the upcoming 2027 elections.
