The Presidency has expressed concern about the rising number of billboards promoting the Tinubu 2027 campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. Many of these billboards, featuring images of the President and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, have appeared in cities like Abuja and Kano.
In a statement released by Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the Presiden on Information & Strategy, he said, while President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima appreciate the support from their loyal followers, they want to clarify that they do not endorse these premature campaign efforts. According to Nigeria’s electoral law, campaigning for the 2027 general elections is not permitted until the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announces the official election timetable. The Presidency is clear that such actions could undermine the electoral process and create unfair advantages.

The President has not authorized any individual or group to launch a Tinubu 2027 campaign or use any media channels for this purpose, whether outdoor advertising, digital platforms, print, radio, or television. The Presidency urges those funding these billboards to stop immediately.
President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima remain focused on their current responsibilities in nation-building, including efforts in economic revitalization, human capital development, infrastructure renewal, social investment, and national security. When INEC signals the start of the 2027 electoral process, President Tinubu will communicate his plans to the nation.
