Daniel Bwala Replies Senator Ali Ndume: “I’m Not Running for Senate, You’re Haunted by Failure”

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Policy Communication, took to his verified X account to address recent comments made by Senator Ali Ndume during an interview.

In his response, Bwala stated, “Senator Ali Ndume, your frustration seems to be aging you. I am not planning to run for the Senate, and I won’t be replacing you in Southern Borno.”

Bwala emphasized that Ndume has failed to deliver on promises to the people of Southern Borno during his more than 21 years in office, claiming this failure is now haunting him. He pointed out that Ndume was notably left out of the recent list of honorees for an excellence award recognizing distinguished individuals from Southern Borno.

Bwala also criticized Ndume for his behavior, saying, “You openly criticize leaders, but when called out, your supporters resort to threats.” He accused Ndume of attending secret meetings with opposition groups while pretending to be a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the day.

The Special Adviser expressed disappointment over Ndume’s insults, noting, “There’s no need to call me offensive names on TV because I respect my elders.”

He reminded Ndume that despite frequent insults, he had previously helped him during difficult times, such as when he came to his office asking for support after being suspended by former Senate President Bukola Saraki.

I recall the time you aspired to become Senate President and patiently waited for two hours at my law office for me to arrive. It’s important to remember that respect is a two-way street, Bwala said
