Court Restrains Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio, Others From Speaking to Press on the pending lawsuit

A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued a gag order, restraining Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio, and others involved in a legal case from making public comments or speaking to the press. This ruling comes as part of the ongoing lawsuit filed by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan against Senate President Godswill Akpabio and three other defendants.

Justice Binta Nyako delivered the ruling on Friday after Akpabio’s lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN), raised concerns about Akpoti-Uduaghan granting media interviews regarding the case. The judge emphasized that both parties and their legal teams must refrain from discussing the matter with the media.

Additionally, Justice Nyako prohibited live streaming of court proceedings on social media or any other platform.

The Federal High court restraining Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Akpabio, and others from engaging with the press is intended to preserve the integrity of the legal proceedings.

As the case unfolds, both parties are expected to comply with the court’s order to ensure a fair trial without public interference.
