Full-Time HND Graduates Cleared for NYSC Mobilization: Education Minister

Following discussions with the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Dr. Alausa confirmed that only full-time HND graduates are eligible for the program.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has announced a resolution to the long-standing issue concerning the mobilization of Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). After discussions with the NYSC Director-General, the Minister confirmed that only full-time HND graduates are eligible and can now proceed with their mobilization.

Following discussions with the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Dr. Alausa confirmed that only full-time HND graduates are eligible for the program. This decision brings relief to many students who were previously excluded from participating in the NYSC. However, part-time HND graduates remain ineligible for mobilization.

To ensure a smooth process, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has been directed to quickly gather data for eligible graduates. A circular has been sent to all Polytechnic Rectors, instructing them to upload the necessary information onto a newly created HND admission portal.

” The new portal will serve as the official database for eligible graduates and serve as the official database for NYSC mobilization, addressing past challenges related to admission records.

The Minister urged all eligible graduates to take advantage of this opportunity and proceed with their mobilization without delay.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing equal opportunities for all qualified Nigerian graduates and ensuring their contributions to national development through the NYSC scheme.
