Former Vice President Abubakar Atiku has praised Ushie Rita Uguamaye also known as Raye, a youth corps member serving in Lagos, as a symbol of the spirit of a new generation of women striving for political engagement and advocacy. He believes that Raye embodies the qualities necessary for promoting popular participation in politics.

“I deeply admire her boldness and wisdom—her fearless resolve to speak truth to power, undeterred by the weight of opposition,” Atiku stated. He highlighted Raye’s efforts in following the path of strong women leaders like Gambo Sawaba, Funmilayo Ransom-Kuti, Margaret Ekpo, and many others who have fought for the common good in Nigeria.
