In a surprising turn of events, Governor Siminalayi Fubara faced locked gates upon his arrival at the Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday, preventing him from presenting budget.
As Fubara’s convoy approached the entrance, security personnel at the complex had locked the gates. Reports indicate that this action was taken because of a lack of official communication between the governor and the Assembly.
However, Fubara claimed that he had informed Speaker Martins Amaewhule about his visit through a letter and attempted to reach him by phone since Tuesday.
