RMD, Ayra Starr Joins Cast of Paramount Pictures’ ‘Children of Blood and Bone’

Paramount Pictures has announced exciting new cast members for their upcoming film “Children of Blood and Bone.” Among those joining the star-studded lineup are popular artists Ayra Starr, Zackary Momoh, and seasoned actor Richard Mofe-Damijo.

The film adapts the beloved novel and has already attracted attention with its impressive cast. Alongside Starr and Momoh, newcomers Saniyya Sidney, Pamilerin Ayodeji, Shamz Garuba, Kola Bodunde, and Temi Fagbenle have also been added. Notably, Garuba and Ayodeji were selected through an open casting call in Nigeria, emphasizing Paramount’s commitment to authenticity. Details about their roles will be revealed soon by Arise News.

Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film features Thuso Mbedu as the heroic Zélie Adebola and Tosin Cole as her protective brother, Tzain. The cast also includes Amandla Stenberg as Princess Amari and a stellar lineup of actors such as Damson Idris, Lashana Lynch, Idris Elba, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Cynthia Erivo, and Viola Davis, who plays the wise mentor Mama Agba.

Filming kicked off in South Africa on February 17, 2025, with author Tomi Adeyemi sharing a glimpse behind the scenes on Instagram, announcing the start with a photo captioned “And… action.”

The screenplay was co-written by Prince-Bythewood and Adeyemi, ensuring the film stays true to its Nigerian-inspired fantasy roots. “Children of Blood and Bone” is scheduled to hit theaters on January 15, 2027, including a premiere in IMAX, promising moviegoers a visually stunning and culturally rich experience from Paramount Pictures.
