The Nigeria Police Force wants to inform the public that a message circulating on WhatsApp and social media claiming there are 79 terrorists in the Lugbe area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is false and should be ignored.
This misleading message, which also claims there will be a curfew, has no basis in fact. According to intelligence from the Police and other security agencies, there are no terrorists in Lugbe or its surroundings. The message falsely attributes its content to ACP Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer at the Police Command Headquarters in Abuja.
The Police believe this rumor was created by someone trying to cause fear and disrupt the peace in the FCT. We urge citizens to trust only official sources of information about security matters. Please follow the Nigeria Police Force on social media: @PoliceNG on X (formerly Twitter), @ngpolice on Facebook, and @nigeriapoliceforce on Instagram for accurate updates.

We encourage everyone to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or our emergency contact lines.
