
Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has appeared before an Abeokuta Magistrate Court on allegations of assaulting government officials. He was formally charged with five counts at the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta.

On Wednesday, he surrendered to the Criminal Investigation Department in Lagos after being declared wanted by the Ogun Command. Following his surrender, he was subsequently transferred to the Ogun Command headquarters located in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Portable faced a five-count indictment that included charges of conspiracy, assault, armed intimidation with cutlasses and firearms, and conduct likely to cause harm. He entered a plea of not guilty. In addition, his nine aides were also charged with similar offenses before Magistrate O.L. Oke. The defendants are identified as Nurudeen Warris (21), Adetola Alashe (25), Samuel Adeleke (28), Oluwaseun Ayenuwa (19), Oluwapelumi Adeosun (20), Gospel Kanu (20), Precious Ohiegebo (19), Ifeoluwa Babatunde (27), and Fatimo Muhammed (26).

The group is accused of assaulting and obstructing town planners Abidemi Onabanjo, Ramon Lateef, and Akinpelumi Oyero while they were fulfilling their official responsibilities at Portable’s bar, Odogwu.
After entering a not guilty plea, Portable’s attorney, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, sought bail, emphasizing that the singer has experienced remorse and has learned valuable lessons. Magistrate O.L.O. Oke approved the bail request, setting the amount at ₦2 million with a corresponding surety. The trial has been postponed until March 5.
The Ogun State police have issued a wanted notice for Portable, who is accused of assaulting three officials while they were performing their duties at his bar in the Sango area.
