Elon Musk’s xAI has launched Grok 3, an AI platform designed to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and China’s DeepSeek.
In a video call at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Musk stated, “Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning capabilities and is outperforming any other AI we’ve tested so far.” He described Grok 3 as “scary smart” during a conference. The chatbot, built in eight months, runs on xAI’s Colossus supercomputer and utilizes over 100,000 Nvidia GPU hours for training.

Starting today, Grok 3 is available to Premium Plus subscribers on X. Elon Musk urged users to update their X app to access the new features. He also announced a separate subscription, Super Grok, for dedicated fans seeking advanced capabilities and early access to new features on both the Grok app and the new website, grok.com.
Musk mentioned that a more polished version will be available in about a week, with daily improvements. A voice interaction feature is also in development to enhance conversational experiences, which Musk tested and found promising, though it still requires refinement. He anticipates it will provide one of the best experiences with Grok 3 soon.
