
The Supreme Court, located in the capital city of Abuja, has officially dismissed the appeal put forward by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara that was aimed at challenging the leadership and authority of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
In a significant ruling delivered by a five-member panel headed by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, the court also issued a directive for Governor Fubara to pay a sum of two million naira to both the House of Assembly and to Amaewhule.

This decision, reached on Monday, reinforces the legal standing of the Assembly’s leadership and highlights the court’s commitment to upholding legislative authority within the state.
The case was officially dismissed when Fubara’s attorney, Yusuf Ali, made the decision to withdraw it.
