Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, known as Evans, has sought a plea bargain with the Lagos State Government amidst his ongoing trial. This was revealed during his re-arraignment at the High Court in Ikeja, where he faced five amended charges including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
Evans’ lawyer, Emefo Etudo, claimed that Evans has become remorseful, stating, “He was a young man consumed by crime, but he is now repentant. He is currently a 200-level student at the National Open University and achieved A1 in all his NECO exams while in prison, thanks to a scholarship from the Federal Government.”

During the proceedings, state prosecuting counsel Sule Yusuf informed the court that the case was starting anew and requested the re-arraignment of the defendants. The prosecution alleges that Evans and co-defendant Joseph Emeka killed Peter Nweke and Chijioke Ngozi on the same day. Both defendants, represented by C.N. Udeh, did not oppose the re-arraignment but pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Following their plea, Sule requested that the court further remand the defendants, noting that they had applied for a plea bargain through their legal counsel.
