The Federal Government announced it generated approximately N2.4 billion in 2024 from marriage contracts processed by the Ministry of Interior’s registry, as stated by Minister Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo during a media briefing in Abuja on Tuesday.
The ministry also reported over N3.2 billion in revenue from expatriate quota applications, contributing to a remarkable overall revenue increase of 150%. Additionally, the Federal Government confirmed the repatriation of 828 foreign nationals in 2024.
While Dr. Tunji-Ojo provided these updates, he did not disclose the specific offenses leading to the repatriations, stating that the process was managed by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).tion Service (NIS).
